Position: Editor in Chief

Bio: Kylee Lairmore is the Editor in Chief for The Wright State Guardian. She started with The Guardian as a News Editor her sophomore year and has continued with the paper since. She has a passion for writing, editing and media. She is working on her bachelor's degree in English with a creative writing focus and hopes to work in publishing or journalism after she graduates.

Britin FrazeyBritin Frazey Britin Frazey

Position: Managing Editor

Bio: Britin Frazey is The Wright State Guardian Newsroom’s Managing Editor, in her third year of editorial positions. She is graduating in May with her B.A. in English, with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Deaf Studies. With goals of going into the writing and editing fields and eventually publishing a novel, Britin focuses on giving personalized feedback and improving the quality of the Newsroom’s story outputs.

Position: Web Designer

Bio: Samir Husen is a web designer for The Wright State Guardian, where he focuses on improving the site’s usability and reader engagement. He is a graduate student at Wright State University pursuing a master’s degree in computer science and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Wolverhampton. Originally from Nepal, Samir hopes to work as a full-stack software engineer after graduation.

Position: Social Media Manager

Bio: Macie is a freshman communications major who loves writing and all things media and entertainment. She started out as an intern for The Guardian in the fall of '25 and has recently joined the staff as social media manager. Macie is very excited to showcase her creativity and love for media at The Guardian and is very proud to be a part of the team.

Position: The Staff Photographer

Bio: I am Surya Sireesha Akula, a graduate student in Pharmacology and Toxicology at Wright State University with a strong background in clinical pharmacy, healthcare administration, and research. I have hands-on experience in patient care, medication safety, and interdisciplinary collaboration from my roles at leading hospitals in India. I am actively involved in research, student leadership, and community health initiatives, and I currently serve as a staff photographer for The Guardian at Wright State University. I am passionate about advancing patient-centered care, education, and creative communication.

Brooklyn WoodsBrooklyn Woods Brooklyn Woods

Position: Sports Reporter

Bio: Brooklyn Woods is the sports reporter for The Wright State Guardian. She has a passion for collegiate sports especially soccer and basketball and loves to educate readers on sports topics. Woods has her associates of arts from Clark State and currently is a media studies student at Wright State University. Woods hopes to continue her career in sports media after graduation. Woods loves cheering on the raiders and being able to highlight and offer awareness to other readers on the raiders.

Ashley HainzerAshley Hainzer Ashley Hainzer

Position: News Reporter

Bio: Ashley Hainzer reports the news for Wright State. She works to keep all the student body informed on all the happenings on campus. She is an undergraduate student at Wright State University. She is pursuing her Adolescent/Young Adult: Integrated Language Arts Education degree with the goal of becoming an English teacher. Ashley also holds an associates degree of the arts from Clark State College.

Position: News Editor

Bio: Julia Kirk is the News Editor for the Wright State Guardian. She started with the Guardian as an intern her freshman year and has continued with the paper since. She has a passion for writing and editing and is excited to step into this new leadership role and grow from it. She is working on her bachelor's degree in communications and hopes to work in publishing after she graduates.

Ciarah Jenkins Ciarah Jenkins Ciarah Jenkins

Position: Videographer

Bio: Ciarah Jenkins is the WSU Guardian's videographer. Her job is to review articles written by Guardian journalists and decides which would make an exceptional YouTube video. For variety in uploads, she works directly with the Social media manager to decide which content would make a good reel on social media. She also manages the production for the Guardian's brand new podcast "Off The Record."

Position: Digital Team Contributor

Bio: Sam is a sophomore majoring in Communication Studies. Outside of the G, Sam work in the Student Involvement and Leadership Center, Annual Giving, and is on the executive council of Kappa Delta Sorority.

Tabitha GaierTabitha Gaier Tabitha Gaier

Position: Contributing Writer

Bio: Tabitha is a Wright life writer for the Guardian, she transferred from Clark State with an associate in English and is now pursuing a bachelors in communication. In the future Tabitha hopes to become a published author.
