Campus Life Storyteller: Meet Intern Tabitha Gaier

Tabitha Gaier, a Wright Life intern for The Wright State Guardian, has a passion for writing. She joined for hands-on learning experiences and a sense of community.

Gaier is a junior majoring in communications at Wright State University (WSU). She recently transferred from Clark State Community College, where she joined The Guardian, looking for new experiences and hoping to strengthen her writing in this field.

"[I joined for] work, the experience and wanting to learn how to properly write," Gaier said. "The people at The Guardian are great."

Gaier enjoys her experience at The Guardian because it gives her the chance to share other people’s stories and help give others a voice, which she explained is what she loves most about writing.

“For me, it’s always been a way to give other people, and me, a voice. It’s nice being able to know that what I love can bring other people comfort," Gaier said

Gaier expressed that if she could write in any genre, she would choose fantasy. She has loved it since childhood because she viewed it as a way to escape. Her interest was first sparked by the Pegasus book series, which remains one of her favorites.

Outside of writing, Gaier has many other passions and talents. In her free time, she enjoys jewelry making and origami. A few fun facts about her are that she is a Sagittarius, her favorite artist is Au/Ra and her favorite season is fall.

After graduating, Gaier wants to continue to pursue writing in some way.

“I chose communication because I wanted to write, but now I’m thinking maybe something such as broadcasting. I’d maybe want to go into copywriting or something just a little less stress-inducing," Gaier said.
