Ciarah Jenkins, the Videographer for The Wright State Guardian, has a passion for film. Through videography, Jenkins has been able to experience firsthand the happenings of Wright State University (WSU).
“My goal for The Guardian was to get more experience being a videographer and spreading the word about important information that students should know about,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins said that during her time as The Guardian's videographer, she has learned more ways to spread awareness about current events through video.
“I learned that there are a lot of different kinds of communities and it's important that we help spread awareness about them to keep them thriving," Jenkins said. “What I learned in The Guardian could help me in multiple aspects of my videographer career, especially as a freelancer.”
Jenkins is a Motion Pictures major, currently working on developing a filmmaking related club on campus. She appreciates WSU for helping her learn more about filmmaking and being able to network with other creatives.
“I've learned a lot about filmmaking here at [WSU] and I've met so many awesome and talented people.” Jenkins said.
Beyond The Guardian, Jenkins is currently trying to teach herself how to play the drums. In addition to that, Jenkins is a huge advocate for mental health and urges people to do what they can to not sweat the small stuff.
“All I can say is life can be super hard and gross sometimes but as long as you keep your eye and mind on the end goal then you'll get there eventually. Never give up. Don't seek perfection, just consistency,” Jenkins said.
