Members of The Creative Outlet (TCO) at Wright State University (WSU) gathered to capture pictures around campus for a photography night.
President of TCO, Megan Clarke, attempts to host a different event every Wednesday during the school year, representing their organization.
Students navigated around campus to take pictures of what caught their eye.
Clarke noted that part of why she wanted to host this event is that she knows photography is not learned quickly. However, she shared that anyone can attempt it and build skills from their creative perspective.
“Photography itself isn't a skill you learn overnight, but it's something that anyone can try, no matter your skill level,” Clarke said.
Matthew Roch is a member of TCO who attended this event.
Roch enjoys taking pictures. Specifically, he expressed that he is skillful at taking a regular picture and making it look like a liminal space.
“One of the things I noted is that immediately I saw a liminal space right there, and then I immediately took a picture,” Roch said after taking a photo of a chair during the event.
Evelyn Schell, an English student at WSU, also shared an interest in liminal space pictures and used visual imagery to describe it.
“I think I realized just how quickly a place can become a haunting, dream-like husk without people in it, talking and going about their lives,” Schell said.
If TCO seems like the organization for you, then be sure to check their page on engage for events they may have coming up.
