The WSU Bathroom Protest: A Call For Solidarity

On Wednesday, March 26, the School of Professional Psychology held a protest in Wright State University's quad. Many people from the community joined the cause, participated in the activities set up for the peaceful rally, and listened to powerful speeches from community members and passionate advocates.

Women's and Veterans Tea Party: Shedding Light and Sharing Tea

The Women’s Center partnered with Wright State University's Veteran and Military Center to support and celebrate the sacrifice of veterans, especially those on campus. The tea party event served as a way for students and members of both groups to come together to share pastries and stories.

Long-distance relationships are something that have been around for centuries. Whether you are sending letters to someone you met on a trip in the 19th century or texting someone you met online on popular apps like Discord or Instagram, love has always continued to thrive despite any distance.

Women Entrepreneurs Share Their Journeys at Wright State Panel

On Thursday, March 13, Wright State University hosted a panel featuring four female business owners in the food and business industry. Organized by the Raj Soin College of Business, the Women’s Center, and the Asian and Native American Center—with support from the Entrepreneurship Club and ReyRey Café—the event provided a platform for these entrepreneurs to share their unique experiences, challenges, and successes.

CareSource is a very large healthcare company that sent representatives to Wright State University on Wed., March 19 to inform students of their internship and job opportunities as students get ready to graduate and enter the job market. While many healthcare companies come to WSU's campus, CareSource stands apart in many ways.

The Aswang: Facts and Features of the Fearsome Creature from Filipino Folklore

 Aswangs are a traditional creature in Filipino folklore, but these monsters are complex and diverse shape-shifters, making them somewhat difficult to define. There are many common traits that aswangs may share, with lots of interpretations and beliefs about the beasts and their diverse abilities. In Filipino folklore, they take on many different roles in storytelling, all of which are interesting narrative devices for the overall mythology.

What to Expect for Raiderthon 2025: Activities, Dancing and Mental Health Awareness

Miracle Makers put on Raiderthon every spring, making it a beloved tradition at Wright State University. The goal of this twelve-hour long dance marathon event is to raise money for Dayton Children’s Hospital. Events vary slightly each year, which may leave students wondering what the 2025 Raiderthon will look like as they continue to get excited for the event.

Finding Comfort in Religion and Keeping Up-to-Date With the St. John Bosco Chapel

The St. John Bosco Chapel, near the walkway to the Woods dormitories, may not catch the eye of many people who are non-religious or practice a different religion. However, those interested may learn that it is an open environment that is ready to both have tough talks about religion and make lighthearted jokes with those in attendance.

On Thursday, Feb. 20, the Anatomy and Physiology Club hosted a watercolor painting session in which pathology and artist Meredith Herman introduced attendees to recreating histology scenes with paint.

De-Stress Before Midterms with Stressed is Desserts Spelled Backwards

As midterm week approached, the Honors community wanted to give students the opportunity to learn helpful ways to deal with stress while enjoying a sweet treat by hosting their event in the Honors dorm on Friday, Feb. 21. It served as a way to remind students of the resources they have available to them and to connect.

The Future of WSU’s Cultural Identity Centers as President Trump Bans Community Gatherings

Since his inauguration, President Donald Trump has been signing orders banning diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across the nation. Because of these new rules and regulations, many universities shut down their programs and identity centers immediately. With Wright State University's student-centric ideologies and claims, it is only natural that they did not take this approach. However, with the current state of the country, students are left uncertain about what the future of WSU's beloved Cultural and Identity Centers might be.

Condom Bingo Encourages Inclusive Sex Education for Students

On Monday, Feb. 17, students packed into 009 Student Success for Condom Bingo, an evening of games, snacks and candid conversations about sexual health. Organized by RCA in collaboration with the Women's Center, Counseling and Wellness, the LGBTQA Center, and Title IX, the event aimed to educate students on topics like consent, contraception and sexual violence—all through the fun and interactive format of bingo.

Present Moments: Mindful Coloring and Group Session Highlight

Wright State University's Counseling and Wellness Services offers a wide variety of resources to all students, including a variety of group therapy sessions for various identity groups. There is also one which is open to everyone, focusing on mindfulness with a new activity each week. They held their second weekly meeting of the semester on Wednesday, Feb. 19, with the activity of mindful coloring.
