The club football program is held in high regard around the department. Wright State's club sports program manager, Jake Wells, answered what makes the club football program stand out. Wells pointed to both their numbers and community.
“Their roster numbers are consistent year [after] year,” Wells said. “They’re able to almost form that brotherhood immediately.”
The Raiders team struggled during their season last year, with an ending record of 2-4. Their 2025 campaign began 2-0 with back-to-back wins against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies and Milwaukee Panthers. However, the Raiders lost the next four straight games by at least 15 points.

The Club President, Trevor Hardin, believes this season will provide a different outcome than last season’s struggles. When asked why he believes this year’s team is different, he believes it is the adjustments in the team’s practice and preparation.
“Last year, we’d have 3-hour practices, but they weren’t dense of actual football,” Hardin said.
He explained that conditioning was a major focus last year, whereas this year the focus is drills and running plays. With this change in practices, Hardin believes that these differences will lead to success this season.
“We’re ready for those close situations and games.”
Wright State Club Football Practice September 15
The Raiders have an eight-game schedule this season, with three home games on Mulhollan Field. The season kicks off on the road against the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons on Sept. 20. Additionally, this season’s away games will include the club teams for Loyola Chicago, Oakland University, Ohio State and Pittsburgh. The first home game will be Sept. 27 against the Michigan State Spartans. Then on Oct. 18, the raiders return from a two-game road trip to face the West Virginia Mountaineers. The final home game will be on Nov. 1 against the Toledo Rockets.
Both Wells and Hardin encourage fans to attend the home games this year. Hardin wants the fans to get involved with the themes of each game as well. The game against Michigan State is a White-out. Pink-out is the theme for the West Virginia match. Lastly, it is military appreciation for the Toledo game.
"Club sports are a terrific way to make friends and get involved in the [WSU] community. You will learn responsibility and leadership skills, but without all the time sacrifice required of NCAA Division I athletes," the Club Sports website reads.
“I’d love to see everybody out there just to see how the team has developed and changed with this new coach and coaching staff,” Harden said.
