Student Union Market Theft
On Sept. 28, WSUPD put out an all-call report to students and faculty announcing a serious theft at the Union Market that is located in the Student Union. According to the email, the individuals stole several different food and beverage items.
The email described the perpetrators as two African American males in their late teens or early twenties and an African American female around the same age.
The incident is connected to an incident that took place in July, where two male individuals with the same description also stole food and beverage items overnight.
On Oct. 5, another campus-wide email was sent out explaining that two alleged perpetrators from both incidents were arrested and had charges of theft and trespassing pending investigation.
In a statement from WSUPD, they highlighted that the catching of the two perpetrators was a community effort and thanked students and faculty for their cooperation.
“We appreciate the campus community for its cooperation and continued support throughout these investigations. These arrests represent meaningful progress, and we remain committed to following through on incidents that affect our community. Thank you for working with us to keep Wright State a safe and welcoming place to learn, work, and visit.”
