Wright State Campus Recreation offers many ways for students to get moving and meet new people. One of the options they provide is group fitness classes.
On Wright State’s campus engagement platform, Engage, you are able to find these courses among the weekly events. Each of these courses includes a description of what these classes are meant to provide to students.
“Our Group Fitness and Aquatics classes offer a variety of ways to get moving, challenge yourself, and explore something outside your usual routine,” the courses' descriptions state.
There are many different types of classes that are offered. According to the Campus Recreation website, some of class options that are offered include yoga, Pilates, ballet and boxing classes. These classes are free and available for students to sign up for at any time on the Campus Recreation website and Wright State’s Engage portal.
The group fitness courses take place all over WSU’s Student Union building. The aquatics classes take place in the pool. There are a few strength and conditioning classes that are taught in the fitness center, which was updated in Feb. of this year, whereas many of the other courses take place in the studios located by the Campus Recreation desk in the Lower Atrium of the Student Union.
The classes have a wide range of times to be as accommodating to students’ schedules as possible. The earliest classes are the yoga and Pilates classes at 7 a.m. Whereas the latest courses are the ballet and theme night cycling course that are at 8 p.m.
