The Wright State University (WSU) Athletic Director, Joylynn Brown, announced on Friday, April 10, that she is stepping down after two years in her position.
An email sent out by President Sue Edwards to the WSU community read that Brown is stepping away “as she contemplates new professional opportunities.”
Brown started as interim athletic director and later became the athletic director for WSU in July 2024. She was also the first woman to have the athletic director title for WSU.
Additionally, Brown is a WSU alumnus, having played volleyball for the Raiders from 1989 to 1992, and later became the coach.
As of now, Robert Ray is named as the interim athletic director. Ray has worked for the Raiders since 2016 as the Senior Associate of Athletics, Director for Athletics Administration and is a WSU graduate from 2009.
