Phi Tau Frost: Phi Kappa Tau Drink Of The Week March 30 to April 3

ReyRey Cafe partners with new organizations each week to create a special cross-promotion. This week, they partnered with the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity to create the Phi Tau Frost.

Wright State University is home to the student-led coffee shop, ReyRey Cafe, which provides student workers with training in various aspects of business operations.

Pierce Hamilton is a barista at ReyRey as well as a member of Phi Kappa Tau. He explained that the themed drink was inspired by an exclusive invite-only event the fraternity is hosting.

"The [drink's] name is Phi Tau Frost. It is inspired by our upcoming Wake event," Hamilton said. "This is a tradition our chapter is bringing back this year, and we're all very excited."

Being a member of both organizations for this week's drink, Hamilton is in a unique position.

I've been in the drink/coffee business for years and it's honestly really cool being able to make my own creation for others this time around," Hamilton said. "It's also cool to see my fraternity's event posted up at my workplace."

The drink itself is a frozen lemonade with cherry and lavender syrup.

Logan Dreyer is the Chief Marketing Officer for ReyRey Cafe and explained that frozen lemonades are not a common drink at ReyRey, making this drink of the week extra special.

"I've always thought of doing frozen lemonades, but it feels like a logistical nightmare because there is a little bit of waste that comes with it," Dreyer said.

Hamilton chose the cherry flavoring based on the fraternity's national flower, while Dreyer suggested leaning into the flower theme even further.

"We have been selling a lot of refreshing drinks lately, and I wanted something red to symbolize our red carnation," Hamilton said. "Logan Dreyer suggested adding lavender to make it stand out a little more."

While the Wake event is invite-only, Phi Tau will be hosting a Super Smash Brothers tournament on April 15. More details closer to the event can be found on Phi Kappa Tau's Instagram page @phitauwsu.

The Phi Tau Frost is available at ReyRey Cafe from now until Friday, April 3. ReyRey is open every weekday, starting at 8 a.m. each day. Monday through Thursday, they close at 6 p.m.; Friday they close at 5 p.m.

You can order the drink by simply requesting the Drink Of The Week. Don't miss your chance to try out a limited-time frozen lemonade from ReyRey!
