Marketing the Media: Meet Digital Managing Editor Sudipta Acharjee

As the Digital Managing Editor, Sudipta Acharjee brings his passion for business and entrepreneurship to The Wright State Guardian.

“I do lots of things for my development, so I know why I selected the Guardian. I realize, right now, this is my perfect decision,” Acharjee said. “I'm learning from everyone. It's my goal. It's my passion.”

Acharjee oversees the entire digital team of the Guardian. He also manages the advertisements, finances and business side of the organization.

In addition to learning, Acharjee has a passion for marketing and business as a whole. Outside of his work at the Guardian, he also holds two internships related to his field of marketing analytics.

Earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School, he is now one year into his two-year graduate studies at WSU.

“Everyone is very friendly,” Acharjee said. “I'm rating [WSU] and The Guardian 10 out of 10.”

Acharjee runs an online business based in his home country, Bangladesh.

“I have a clothing business. I have five employees [who] manage the whole business, and I'm just running from here, advertisements. Instagram, TikTok and Facebook ads, and the sales are going on,” Acharjee said.

More information about Acharjee’s business can be found at its corresponding website, though the currency accepted is different from United States dollars (USD).

Acharjee said working at The Guardian is helping him learn skillsets he did not previously possess.

“I know the technical stuff. I might be [developing] in the leadership activity,” Acharjee said. “It's the learning process. I'm implementing all of the skills and learning and reading books to make the implementation of the leadership.”

Acharjee eventually plans to return to Bangladesh, where his friends and family are, but he also has intentions of getting a startup business going in the U.S. In the meantime, he is busy with enjoying his work at the Guardian, coursework and internships.
