WSU's Annual Haunted Maze Becomes Tradition

Wright State University's annual Haunted Maze was hosted by the Tabletop Club and the Department of Medical Science. The event continues to be a campus classic.

Students meet spookiness at WSU

Every year, the haunted maze pushes students to create fresh twists, spooky plots and extravagant decorations that transform the familiar campus halls into scenes straight out of a horror film. The Tabletop Club, in partnership with the Department of Medical Science hosted the event that has become one of WSU's holiday traditions.

Tanner Blitz, President of the club, emphasized that the event's success is due to collaboration and dedication.

"Our goal is to make the maze more interactive this year," Blitz said. "We added new sound effects and themed rooms to keep people guessing. It's not just about being scary-it's about storytelling."

Samuel Aleia, secretary of the club, was instrumental in the planning and execution of WSU's haunted maze.

"Organizing the maze is like managing a small production. I oversee everything from sign-ups to ensuring things are in the correct locations, each step takes a lot of effort but watching the event come together makes everything worthwhile," Aleia said.

Shravan Kumar Chary a master student in computer science, attended the event for the second time and described the experience as both thrilling and unforgettable.

"[What] I love about the maze is how creative it is, each corner has something new and the volunteers really put themselves into the roles," Chary said.

With plans now in place for next year, the Haunted Maze promises to continue to be a highlight of WSU's fall semester.
