Fans have lots to say about the beloved video game and television series “The Last of Us,” starring Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal, especially as more casting and news comes out about the second season.

Casting

When the cast was announced for the first season of the TV show, there were some disagreements. The fans really loved the video game, which came out in 2013. When Bella Ramsey was cast as Ellie, people were upset because they did not think Ramsey looked like Ellie or would do a good job.

The same thing is happening for season two. The fans are most upset about the casting of  Kaitlyn Dever in the role of Abby Anderson and Isabela Merced as Dina.

The fans are most concerned with the characters’ looks; however, this was the same concern they had for Ramsey playing Ellie, and Ramsey ended up doing a phenomenal job. Even Ashley Johnson, the original actress for Ellie in the video games, applauded Ramsey’s work publicly.

Neil Druckmann, the original writer of the video game, is also creating the television show with Craig Mazin. With their talent and knowledge of the game, I believe their casting will absolutely be the right choice.

Season outline

Another aspect of the show that has fans talking is how the season is going to play out. “The Last of Us” game has already come out with a second part. The first season of the show was based on the events of the first game, but fans are questioning if that will be the same for season two.

There are lots of things that take place in the second game, and fans have been speculating on whether or not that could fit into one season. The first season only had nine episodes, so fans believe the second season will either be much longer or it will not line up exactly with the second game.

There has been no information out from the directors or writers about what events will take place, leaving fans to speculate and anticipate the new season release.

Whatever way Druckmann and Mazin decide to go with the second season, it will be a hit. The first season was very popular and was nominated for and won several Emmys, including for Outstanding Sound Mixing and Outstanding Special Visual Effects.

What we do know is that filming has started for the upcoming release, so keep watch on HBO Max for the second season of “The Last of Us.”
