Events in the month of February include campus recreation activities, Raider Roundup, Heritage Ball and game nights. 

Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. 

Muslim Student Association Hijab Day

Join the Muslim Student Association in its celebration of Muslim women who wear head scarves as a symbol of spirituality and empowerment. 

Thursday, Feb. 2 at 4 p.m.

Amigos Latinos Student Association Tutoring at El Puente Learning Center

Join Amigos Latinos in this volunteer opportunity tutoring ESL children. The organization requires background checks to attend.

Monday, Feb. 6 at 4 p.m.  

Engineers Without Borders Chipotle Fundraiser

Visit the Chipotle located at 2544 Zink Road, mention EWB and show the flier so that the restaurant can count the purchase toward the local and international volunteer projects EWB is planning. 

Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.

Campus Recreation The Adventure Speaker Series: El Camino de Santiago–Two Styles of Travel

Diana Glawe and Emily Foubert will join campus recreation to share the story of a personal traversing the 1,200-year-old pilgrimage through Europe to the resting place of Apostle St. James. The two travelers will explain the journey through France and Meseta, with unique experiences and new people along the way.

The ‘67 Club Raider Roundup

The ‘67 Society will host the largest pep rally of the year as the Wright State men’s basketball team prepares to take on the Northern Kentucky University Norse at McLin Gym. The society will have raffles, contests, live music, food, giveaways and other interactive enjoyment.

Korean Club Traveling to South Korea (한국)

Korean Club members will share experiences of traveling to South Korea while teaching culture and language practices that students should know before traveling. 

Saturday, Feb. 11 at 9 a.m.

Campus Recreation Ice Climbing Weekend

Campus Recreation will travel to Fenton, MI to climb 45-foot and 72-foot ice towers. The cost of the trip is $150 with a level two physical and remoteness scale level. For more information, contact Erin Compaleo, Outdoor Recreation Program Manager.

Black Student Union and African-American Residential Caucus Cuffin’ Season: Sex, Lies and Soul Ties

These two organizations will collaborate to discuss relationships and love while being in college.

Friday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m.

Black Student Union Heritage Ball

Join BSU in celebrating Black excellence on campus with dinner, awards, performances and more. The event requires formal attire. 

Monday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m.

H2O Church Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament

Fun competition and pizza make up this free, double-elimination singles tournament that H2O Church will collaborate with the eSports club to host at The Landing. The top three players will win a prize.

Build a love for books with UAB at this book blind date event.

Join UAB in welcoming well-known “stand up magician” Derek Hughes, a celebrated conjurer, before spring break begins.

Campus Recreation The Adventure Speaker Series: Three Months on the North Sea Cycle Route

Hear the story of Tracy Burge, who took on retirement with a bike tour of the countries that border the North Sea, spanding over 3,500 miles. Hear Burge’s stories about adventure and misadventure in this speaker series event.
