Wright State University is currently looking to hire new vice president for faculty affairs.



The universityis fully engaged and committed to filling the position as soon as possible. Plans are in place to begin the interviewing process at the end of April.

“[The] University has been without a full-time Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs since Steve Berberich left the position in June 2018,” according to a statement from University Provost, Susan Edwards.

The vice president for faculty affairs will report directly to the provost for academic affairs, acting as a liaison on matters of faculty personnel including AAUP-WSU and faculty senate.

The candidate will alsotrainall university faculty;

collaborate on recruitment and retention of faculty; creation or revision of faculty on-boarding and orientation, mentorship, and leadership training for current and future department chairs; and work closely with Chief Diversity Officer to promote recruitment and retention of a more diverse faculty, according to Edwards.

“The university's general goal is to make a hiring decision in May and have the new Vice President for Faculty Affairs start by no later than August 1,” said Provost Edwards.
