Wright State faced off against Northern Kentucky University (NKU) for the first conference matchup of the season. The Raiders won the match 5-2, starting the conference schedule off on a high note.



The Raiders started off by claiming the doubles point, winning all three of the doubles matches. Haily Morgan and Madison Riley won 6-3, Luisa Pelayo and Grace Whitney won 6-1 and Jillian Milano and Andreea Craciun won 5-3.

In singles play, the Raiders remained dominant, winning four of the six courts. Craciun and Morgan both lost their matches by set scores of 4-6 and 2-6. All of the other singles players won their matches in straight sets, some very dominantly. Whitney won 6-3, 6-2. Milano defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-2. Riley had a very dominant win, only dropping a single game, winning 6-1, 6-0. Luisa Pelayo had a big match, defeating former-Wright-State-Raider Taylor Culbertson 6-1, 6-2.

The Raiders host IUPUI and UIC on Saturday.
