Head coach for Wright State University’s (WSU) men's basketball team, Clint Sargent, has been offered and accepted a contract extension through the 2031 season.
Sargent was named head coach for the Raiders in 2024 and will now continue his title through 2031. During his 2025-26 season, Sargent helped guide the Raiders to a Horizon League championship win and a March Madness appearance, which was followed by his award for Horizon League Coach of the Year.
Sargent’s dedication to the team does not go unrecognized as he has gained the respect of the WSU community, players and the newest athletic director, Brad Chandler.
Chandler gives his thoughts on Sargent and his extension.
“Clint has built tremendous momentum within our program, and I know the best is still ahead,” Chandler said in a press release. “His leadership and vision have positioned us for continued success, and we’re excited about the potential of what we can accomplish.”
With this extension, Sargent gains the opportunity to continue and build on the successful and winning season the Raiders saw last year.
