Volunteer positions open for presidential debate

Applications are currently being taken to volunteer for the upcoming Presidential Debate at Wright State University.

Volunteers are vital for this process and are needed before, after and during the debate to make this successful.

While everyone is welcome to apply, there are requirements that a student must meet in order to be eligible. Volunteers must be enrolled for fall 2016 semester, be a degree-seeking student, be at least 18-years-old and in good disciplinary standing.

During the application process, students will be asked for their approval to share their information provided with the U.S Secret Service. In addition, certain volunteer members will be subjected to a background check.

Volunteers are required to commit to a pre-determined schedule, as well be as be available for on-call assignments. There will be mandatory training sessions that will take place before assignments are given.

In addition to these time requirements, it is essential to fill out the needed paperwork prior to the beginning of volunteer work.

Due to the work required for this debate, there are positions that require a specific skill set, abilities or experiences. Once a student is offered a position, there will be required to agree to the position description requirements.

Flexibility is a must for students interested in volunteering for this debate; there needs to an understanding that assignments may change suddenly, due to unforeseen circumstances.

All students are welcome to apply. The deadline for these applications is July 15 at 5 p.m. All positions will be posted to the Debate 2016 website.
