Campus Couture: cozy fall fashion

As the weather brought cooler fall temperatures this past week, many students could be seen wearing warmer clothing. Girls left behind summer sandals and dresses and instead wore a combination of chunky sweaters, cozy scarves, leggings or jeans and leather boots.

Junior and international studies major Kelsey Weitz’s outfit was one example of the latest fall fashion. She wears a light-pink button down knitted sweater with skinny blue jeans tucked into short, brown leather lace-up boots. A dark gray infinity scarf wraps around her neck.

“Fall is my favorite season,” Weitz says. “I’m always really hasty to put on a sweater and some boots. I love big, comfy sweaters. They always look so cute if you put a scarf on top of them.”

Weitz describes this style as ‘comfy casual’ and explains that it is usually the kind of style she wears.

“My personal style is definitely ‘comfy casual,’” Weitz says. “I like to look cute, but not feel uncomfortable. There are lot of different ways to wear things that are cute, but comfortable too.”

Some of Weitz’s favorite stores are Forever 21, Charlotte Russe and Polo Ralph Lauren, which Weitz says is especially great for button-down sweaters.
