Sports Shorts: Raider's men's swim team rebounds, women's fall to IUPUI

The Wright State men’s swimming and diving prevailed over IUPUI Saturday with a 156.5-143.5 win, while the women’s team fell 161-137.

John Vigar (1000 free), Kile Aukerman (100 and 200 back), Clement Quilliec (100 and 200 breast and 200 IM), Alfred Pappe (50 free) and Merritt Sparks (100 fly) comprised the first place finishes on the men’s side.

The next time both teams will hit the pool will be in about one month when WSU participates in the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio Dec. 5-7.

Volleyball: Oakland sweeps Wright State, Raiders lose 16th-straight

Oakland defeated Wright State in straight sets Saturday (25-11, 25-17, 25-15). The loss was the 16th consecutive defeat for WSU, which has not won a match since sweeping Chicago State on Sept. 18.

Now, unable to qualify for the six-team Horizon League Tournament, WSU (0-12, 6-24) will finish out its season at home starting on Friday against Valparaiso at 4 p.m. and concluding Saturday against UIC at 5 p.m.
