The new trend going around is the Elf on the Shelf. This little elf stays at your house to make sure you're behaving. Every night, the little elf goes back to the North Pole to report to Santa, and it returns before you wake the next day. Be careful though; you can't touch the elf or else it'll lose its magic and won't be able to return to the North Pole.
If you don't have an elf, don't worry. You can adopt your own elf. You can pick a boy or a girl, and you can even name it yourself. These little elves help make Santa's job a lot easier. With so many kids in the world, having this team of elves helps lighten Santa's workload over the holidays.
These little elves can be a bit mischievous too. Your elf may not go back to the same place when it returns. You may need to search the house to find it, but no matter its location, it knows when you've been good or bad.
Christmas is only a few hours away, so hopefully you've been on your best behavior. Your elf may go back to the North Pole, but don't worry; it'll be back next year to report your behavior to Santa.
If you're interested in adopting your own elf, Santa has set up adoption centers at Target stores and some Hallmark stores. You can visit the official Elf on the Shelf website (http://www.elfontheshelf.com) to find local adoption centers, register your elf and play games.
