Domestic Violence and Crime on Lake Campus: Campus Crime Notes Dec. 22 Through Jan. 20

There were several disturbances, including domestic violence, larceny and crimes at both the Dayton and Lake Campus reported on campus for the days of Dec. 22 to Jan. 20.

Domestic violence and theft

On Jan. 18, The Wright State University Police Department (WSUPD) responded to a call of domestic violence on the Dayton Campus at approximately 2:30 a.m. The incident occurred near the College Park apartments. According to the reports, the incident was between family members. The case is still open, and no further information can be given at this time.

An incident of identity theft on the Dayton Campus was reported on Jan. 16 at 12:09 p.m. to WSUPD's communications. As it is an open case, not much more information could be provided.

Larceny automobile theft was reported out of the Knapke Villa Apartments located on Lake Campus. The theft occurred Dec. 22, 2025, at approximately 3 p.m. According to the reports, the victim had items stolen from their car outside of the apartments.

On Jan. 15, another theft was reported just outside of Maple Hall, located at The Woods residential community. According to reports, the theft occurred around 3:30 p.m. on the Dayton Campus.

Traffic and fire

At 2:40 a.m. on Dec. 24, 2025, a traffic stop occurred on University Boulevard. This routine stop followed a small accident that occurred. Both parties were safe after the incident.

On Jan. 15, another accident-based traffic stop occurred in parking lot seven at 7:27 p.m. Reports show that both parties were uninjured.

Lastly, The Nutter Center experienced a fire mid-afternoon, at approximately 2:30 p.m., on Jan. 17. Reports show that WSUPD and appropriate first responder services were able to reach the small fire and extinguish it promptly.
