Dayton Arcade

Dink & Drink at the Arcade with Yoga and Art

The Dayton Arcade has been a piece of the city’s history for over a century. Now, it is also becoming a place where students, artists and community members can recharge through creativity or wellness. This September, the Arcade will host events that bring both together under one roof.

The Perfect September pop-up gallery

The Dayton Arcade is a piece of history that continues to be used to this day for both public and private events. The Arcade's official website dives further into detail on why it is such an iconic part of Dayton.

"A revitalized historic point-of-pride for downtown Dayton, the Dayton Arcade is a one-of-its-kind development aimed to drive Dayton into the future. The Arcade is more than a collection of incredible buildings; the Arcade is a gathering space for fostering unique connections to develop ideas, partnerships, and organizations that will enrich the Dayton community," the website says.

On Friday, Sept. 5, the North Arcade transformed into "The Perfect September," a one-night immersive art showcase. Paper art installations, live performances and music filled the space to create an atmosphere that blends history with modern artistry.

Abigail Johnson, an artist who participated in the event, discussed its importance.

“I think what makes this gallery so special is that it’s not just about looking at art—it’s about experiencing it in a space that feels alive. The Arcade adds another layer of meaning," Johnson said.

The Dayton Arcade has been used for dozens of artistic events throughout its lifetime; if you were unable to attend "The Perfect September," keep an eye on the events page for future art events.

Free yoga in the Rotunda

Those interested may find a visit to the Dayton Arcade worthwhile still, as there are plenty of other events still happening. This includes physical activities.

On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the Arcade’s Rotunda started to host free weekly yoga sessions. The sessions are to give attendees a midweek reset in one of Dayton’s most iconic spaces.

Michelle Kieaser is one attendee who was happy to share how these yoga sessions have helped her.

“I’ve started going to the Wednesday sessions, and it’s honestly a reset button for my week, and this was before they started offering the free sessions. The Rotunda has this energy that makes it different from a normal studio. It is grounding," Kieaser said.

Why it matters

Both events highlight how the Dayton Arcade is being reimagined—not just as a historic site, but as a hub where people can find calm, creativity and connection. Whether you are rolling out a yoga mat or stepping into an art showcase, the Arcade is quickly becoming the place to be.
