Wright State University ranks in the top 7% of schools worldwide for international student programs, according to Study Abroad Aide. This ranking shows WSU's commitment to developing positive experiences for international students.
The facts
According to Study Abroad Aide, WSU ranks in the top 7% of all schools with international student programs, which includes thousands of schools across 77 countries. The rankings are based on student population and academic reputation, with WSU specifically holding the 566th position.

WSU consistently aims to be diverse and inclusive. The University Center for International Education (UCIE) works to provide learning opportunities for individuals from outside the U.S. through outreach programs, events, activities, and academic and social initiatives.
This achievement for WSU is very important because it shows that these efforts are not in vain according to Michelle Streeter-Ferrari, director of the UCIE.
“This recognition celebrates Wright State’s commitment to international education, our institution’s reputation beyond our borders, and the positive experience international students have at our campus. We look forward to continuing this level of excellence in the years to come,” Streeter-Ferrari said in a statement.
Students interested in being involved with UCIE or attending UCIE events can visit the page on WSU’s website.
Student opinion
Students generally feel like the rankings are a good thing for the school. Grace Adams, a middle childhood education major, is one of these students with a positive view on the matter.
“I think that it is good that the efforts of our school are more broadcasted. Wright State often gets made fun of using the phrase ‘Wright State, Wrong school’, but I think showcasing things like this are important because it shows that we indeed are worthy and have amazing programs,” Adams said.
Ryan Goupinski, a mechanical engineering major and domestic student notices a need for more resources for international students.
“I think WSU has a really good international students program. I do notice that they mainly just hang out on campus though, I wonder if there are programs to help them explore more off campus”
Wright State received three rankings this semester, including the Wall Street Journal's designation of WSU as the number one university in Ohio for social mobility.
