Governor DeWine delivers the State of the State address
On Wednesday, April 10, Governor DeWine delivered the State of the State address.
In the address, DeWine highlighted the work of his administration and the General assembly and emphasized new initiatives that focus on helping Ohio’s children.
“For all of us in Ohio—this now is our time in history—and we must act with great urgency to not squander this precious, finite window of opportunity when our children are growing up,” Governor DeWine said.

O.J. Simpson dead at 76
On Thursday, April 11, O.J. Simpson, former NFL running back and Hollywood actor, has died, according to the Associated Press. His family announced on X that Simpson had succumbed to his battle with prostate cancer on Wednesday, April 10. He was 76.
In 1995, Simpson was accused and later acquitted in the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend Ronald Goldman. In 1997, he was found liable for their deaths in a separate civil case.

Six people dead after Sydney stabbing
On Saturday, April 13, a man stabbed six people to death at a shopping center in Sydney, according to the Associated Press. Eight people, including a 9-month-old, were injured in the attack.
A police officer confronted the man and fatally shot him after he had turned and raised the knife. Police Commissioner Karen Webb emphasized that there is no ongoing risk, and this was an isolated incident.
Iran launches airstrikes on Israel
On Saturday, April 13, Iran launched hundreds of cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and drones into Israel, according to the Associated Press. The strikes are retribution from the April 1 airstrike in Syria, which Iran holds Israel accountable for.
Israeli officials confirmed that 99% of the inbound strikes were shot down without causing any significant damage. Leaders of G7, the informal group of industrialized countries including the U.S., issued a statement condemning the attack.
The U.S. assisted Israel in shooting down dozens of drones and missiles. U.S officials said Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the U.S. would not take part in any offensive action against Iran.
