Primary elections in Ohio
On Tuesday, March 19, voters in Ohio turned out for the primary elections. Democrat Joe Biden and Republican Donald Trump won the presidential primaries, according to the Ohio Secretary of State website.
Bernie Moreno won the Senator primary over Matt Dolan and Frank LaRose; Moreno will face Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown this fall, according to the Associated Press.

Federal lawsuit versus Apple
On Thursday, March 21, as part of its enforcement of antitrust law, the Justice Department announced a lawsuit against Apple for monopolizing the smartphone industry in the United States, according to the Associated Press.
“The lawsuit, filed in federal court in New Jersey, alleges that Apple has monopoly power in the smartphone market and uses its control over the iPhone to ‘engage in a broad, sustained, and illegal course of conduct,’” the press release reads.

Russia fires 31 missiles at Kyiv
On Thursday, March 21, Russia fired 31 missiles at Kyiv in its first attack on the nation’s capital in six weeks, according to the Associated Press. Ukrainian air defense shot down the missiles, but the wreckage still damaged buildings and caused 13 injuries.
Russia and China veto resolution for ceasefire in Gaza
On Friday, March 22, Russia and China vetoed a United Nations resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza to allow humanitarian aid delivery to 2 million Palestinians, according to the Associated Press.
“The vote in the 15-member Security Council was 11 members in favor and three against, including Algeria, the Arab representative on the council. There was one abstention, from Guyana,” the release reads.
60 killed, 145 more injured in Moscow concert hall shooting
On Friday, March 22, 60 people were killed and 145 more injured in a concert hall in Moscow. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack on the hall, which can hold up to 6,200 people.
According to the Associated Press, United States intelligence agencies learned about the Islamic State group’s plans before the attack and alerted Russian officials.
