WSU (Wright State University) distributed over $6 million in emergency grants to undergraduate and graduate students and eligible students enrolled in the Boonshoft School of Medicine and the School of Professional Psychology.

Grant Distribution

“This week, Wright State issued a total of $6,380,125 in mass emergency relief grants directly to 4,921 undergraduate and graduate students and students enrolled in the Boonshoft School of Medicine and the School of Professional Psychology,” according to a recent press release.

The relief grants will be distributed to students with the greatest financial need as determined by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the number of credit hours enrolled for the spring semester. The remaining funds will go to students who have not filed a FAFSA.

The federal funds came from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) III as part of the American Rescue Plan, according to the article released Feb.1, 2022.

“We believe these funds will provide some financial relief to a broad range of our students who have experienced hardship because of COVID-19,” said Kim Everhart, director of financial aid.

Students may view their allocated funds in their student accounts.
