The Wright State University (WSU) coronavirus dashboard was updated on Monday, Aug. 30, indicating a total of 40 active cases on campus.
The current numbers
According to the WSU dashboard, there are currently 6 asymptomatic cases, 26 student cases and eight faculty cases.
However, asymptomatic cases may be reported from both students and outside agencies.
“Asymptomatic individuals who test positive are encouraged to self-report their case, so some cases may be counted in both asymptomatic and external reports,” the dashboard says.
Because of this, the exact number of cases is unknown.
The current cases reflect testing results and external reports from Aug. 3 to Aug. 30, the majority of which coming from Aug. 24- Aug. 30. There is one student report from the Lake Campus.
Dashboard history
Over the summer, there was a dip in numbers from May 11 to July 19 with zero active cases reported.
The last time numbers were higher than 10 cases a week was from Jan. 5 to Jan. 18 with 59 total cases reported for those two weeks.
Students who test positive are encouraged to self-report through the dashboard in order for the university to conduct contact tracing.
The dashboard will update every Monday, or when the Wright State Office of Environmental Health and Safety is able to verify reports.
