On Tuesday, President Sue Edwards sent out a communication email to the Wright State community announcing the latest update to commencement.
"I feel that every message I send out right now is asking you all to deal with yet another imposition or mandate, and for that I am truly sorry," Edwards started the email. "This one cuts deep, as commencement is how we come together to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating seniors and graduate students."
The original date for commencement was set for May 2 and has yet to be determined when the new date will be.
"The current COVID-19 situation, which has resulted in statewide executive orders limiting large gatherings, has disrupted much of our planning around our May 2, 2020, traditional commencement ceremony," Edwards said.
Edwards also asked for creative ideas from Student Government Association as both Dayton and Lake campus move forward.
"I sincerely understand that this is a very special day for all graduating students and their families, which is why we will work together to identify the best solution to this temporary disruption," Edwards said.
