A recent terror attack in Brussels left at least 30 dead and 230 injured. One bombing took place at Maelbeek metro station, killing 20 and injuring 130, and another at the Brussels’ international airport is responsible for the remaining victims. ISIS has reportedly taken credit for the act, and Belgium’s federal prosecutor Frederic Van Leeuw stated that a nail bomb, chemicals and an ISIS flag were found in the house search of a nearby neighborhood. He also reported that surveillance cameras showed three suspects, two of which were presumed to have died in suicidal attacks, the third of which is “actively being searched for.”
In response to the attack, buses, trains, etc. have been temporarily shut down and citizens have been instructed to try and avoid most forms of public transit. Several social media emergency systems have been set up so anyone in need of help, transportation, or the location of loved ones can be assisted.
