Wright State Hospitality Services (WSHS) announced last week that their newest facility The Den would not reopen as of March 1. WSHS cited that their spot in the back of the Nutter Center was unsustainable financially because labor costs routinely doubled sales intake.
The Den offered the same sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit, coffee and Pepsi products available at other dining areas on campus. First opening its doors on Jan 21, The Den lasted just over a month before closing for the final time on Feb 28.
Hospitality Services worked with the Nutter Center to identify the best location in the facility to finalize a menu and hours of operation that would best fit classes scheduled in the building, and decided on opening during the week between 8a.m.-1p.m.
“During the search process for a new food service provider last year, one area brought to our attention was the potential for a venue to serve students who have classes in the Nutter Center…we were excited to experiment in a new and untested location,” said Clint Kernen, Marketing Director for Hospitality Services.
