Another winter storm approaches

A winter storm is expected to move in later this afternoon, bringing with it freezing rain and snow for the area.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered snow flurries and freezing rain will hit before 3 p.m. and will continue on into the night, with a 100 percent chance of rain and snow to hit before 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Despite the expectation for freezing rain, the National Weather Service also stated that there would be little or no ice accumulation today, but after tonight, we are expected to have accumulation of less than half an inch of snow.

Dayton Daily News expects that the evening commute to be slippery and the level of accumulation to fall between one and three inches.
