WSU Dayton Campus Summer Schedule

The 2026-27 Wright State University (WSU) academic school year has come to a close. Many students have gone home over summer break, but several students are still living on campus over summer  with many taking summer classes.

Bob Mihalek, the Assistant Director of Communications at WSU, shared what will be available on campus over the summer.

“[WSU] remains active throughout the summer with a range of services, programs and spaces designed to support students who are taking classes or preparing to start in the fall,” Mihalek said. “From academic support and advising to dining, housing and orientation, students can stay connected and make the most of their time on campus all summer long.”

The Recreation Fitness Center and the Student Union gym will be open Mon-Thurs, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and closed on Sundays. The pool will be open Mon-Fri from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Billy Willis, the Associate Director of Campus Recreation, shared how students can stay active on campus over the summer, and where to find the information.

“Limited fitness classes will be available. Please visit rec.wright.edu for the latest information, list of current classes and hours,” Willis said.

In addition to the fitness center, students will be able to access the Academic Success Center for tutoring, use the Writing and Math centers and study during general service hours. It will be open Mon-Thurs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Students can book in-person appointments or choose to do them virtually. For my information about the Academic Success Center, click here.

Several dining places will be open over summer break, including Pour Cafe, Rowdy Sub, ReyRey Cafe and, for a limited time, the Union Market. Summer camp participants will eat at Union Market during June and July, and students and staff on campus are welcome to eat during those times as well.

There are no summer meal plans at WSU, so students are encouraged to add RaiderCash to their Wright1 cards to pay for meals. Students can access their cards here.

Most summer students are already placed in their summer housing. The dorms are not available, as they are used for camp members over the summer, but students are living in Forest Lane Apartments, University Park or the Village.

The last major building that will be open is the Dunbar Library. The library will be open Mon-Thurs from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

There will be a special scavenger hunt with the Archives at the library. If you complete it over the summer, stop by during business hours and win a free t-shirt.

Overall, students have lots of options and ways to utilize the WSU campus this summer, whether you live on campus or at home.
