Wright State University’s (WSU) men’s golf team secured its 10th Horizon League Championship and headed to Ohio State University (OSU), where their season ended in the NCAA Regional Championship.
The tournament began on Monday, May 18 at the OSU Scarlet golf course with five selected players from WSU. Freshman CJ Scohy, juniors Timmy Hollenbeck and Ian Asch, and seniors Adam Horn and Shane Ochs were chosen.
Head coach Conner Lash comments on the mindset going into the NCAA Regional Championship.
“There’s no reason we can’t go out there and at least compete with those big schools. All we can do is really control what we do and just go out there and play our best," Lash said.
Ochs opened round one shooting 1 over par 71. He then ended round two even-par and ended round three 12 over par 71.

Hollenbeck comments on the Raiders' appearance on the national stage.
“We don’t really predict ourselves where we want to finish. Obviously, we want to finish first, but obviously it’s just not the way it happens nowadays,” Hollenbeck said.
WSU ended round one in seventh place with high hopes of securing a fifth-place spot in the championship. Those hopes slipped away after day two concluded with the Raiders in second-to-last place with their score of 85.
The three-day event ended with WSU finishing in 13th place. The Raiders also finished the championship with Ochs on the player leaderboard, landing in a tied position for 41st alongside four other players.
While the Raiders' 2025-2026 season concluded in Columbus, the team had a successful year and claimed its 10th Horizon League Championship title while also gaining experience on a national stage.
