ReyRey Cafe does a weekly cross-promotion with a new student organization each week. From Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10, it is the sorority Alpha Xi Delta’s turn, promoting an upcoming event for their philanthropy.
Emma Triska is a student at Wright State University (WSU) and a member of Alpha Xi Delta, having joined this past fall semester. Now, she serves as a member of her sorority’s council and is taking the lead on planning their biggest event of the year.
“I love my sorority. I became Vice President of Philanthropy this past January. I really love my position [and] our philanthropy. We work with our organization, called FLOC, [which] stands for ‘For Love of Children,’ in downtown Dayton,” Triska said.
Their drink of the week is timed perfectly with their annual event, Roller Disco, which raises money for FLOC.
Logan Dreyer is the Chief Marketing Officer for ReyRey Cafe, with additional responsibilities to other baristas. Dreyer is responsible for reaching out to get new collaborations for each drink of the week.
“Something bright was definitely mentioned, and they wanted raspberry,” Dreyer said. “I guess, like ‘Roller Raz Disco.’ Yeah, that rhymes, actually.”
The drink is a blue raspberry lemonade. It comes in a bright blue color, with flavors just as vibrant. Fans of blue raspberry will be delighted with this combination, as the lemonade takes a back seat to the titular “Roller Raz,” making for a refreshingly fruity beverage.
Roller Disco will be on Friday, April 10, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. in Orbit Fun Center, which is located in Huber Heights.
“We're gonna have roller skating, prize baskets, obviously dancing and we have a crafts table as well,” Triska said.
With a little something there for everyone, Roller Disco is a unique event that raises money for a good cause. Ordering ReyRey’s drink does not directly support their philanthropy, but it does help spread awareness about their event and goals.
