ReyRey Cafe, the student-led coffee shop, collaborates with a new organization weekly to bring a unique promotional beverage to its customers. This week, ReyRey partners with the Wright State University (WSU) Athletic Training Student Organization (ATSO).
WSU’s ATSO is a new student organization, having started in August 2025. They are hoping that their drink of the week will further help to spread the word about their group.
Danielle Osborne is a master’s student in the WSU athletic training program and the secretary of the WSU ATSO.
“We do a lot more focusing on the clinical side of what the new master's program highlights for the students, because it's not something that was highlighted when we were in undergrad. So, we decided to make it an organization to kind of help show what the athletic training program looks like in the school setting,” Osborne said.
ReyRey barista Olivia Lemon made the drink for Osborne to sample, creating a creamy, refreshing peach-and-strawberry smoothie that ATSO is calling the “Sideline Support.”
“For me, there's like, two places I'll get smoothies from, and that's Tropical Smoothie, and the ReyRey Cafe,” Lemon said. “I really like our smoothies, but out of all of our flavors, we have [four] flavors. Those are my two favorites; probably peach on top, and then strawberry.”
While Lemon created the smoothie for Osborne, Logan Dreyer, Chief Marketing Officer, oversees the drink of the week promotional content.
“I'm here to help Logan. We bounce ideas off each other all the time,” Lemon said.
The drink that the pair thought up together is delicious, leading with the soft feeling and creamy taste of ReyRey's signature smoothies. This is followed by flavorful bursts of fruit, leading with the peach and easing into strawberry. With essential nutrients that are needed to perform, this smoothie makes the perfect support beverage for students, whether they are headed to a workout or just to class.
The Sideline Support can be ordered as easily as requesting the drink of the week at the ReyRey counter from now until the cafe closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 13.
Order it on Wednesday at around 3 p.m. for the chance to be featured in The Guardian’s weekly mid-week review at ReyRey, done by students.
