Over the course of the semester, the Outdoor Recreation Program has been holding workshops that teach students skills needed to camp. The last installment in the Outdoor Skills series is hammock camping.

Hammock camping is a form of camping that uses a hammock instead of a conventional tent. The benefit to this is the low weight of the hammock compared to carrying around a tent. The user would just suspend their hammock between two trees and sleep in the cradle it forms.

Students can learn how to hammock camp on Wednesday, April 3, from 3-4 p.m. in the Student Union Atrium.

There is no cost associated with the clinic and you don’t have to register ahead of time.

Students who have questions, can contact Erin Sherrets from the Outdoor Resource Center at erin.sherrets@wright.edu
