The big four international fashion weeks are approaching. New York, London, Milan and Paris are preparing to direct the way for up-and-coming fashion trends for the world to follow and admire.
Outside of the trends, there are also the colors. The colors are typically decided by Pantone, but many designers will also decide on their own palette of colors for their designs. That being said, the Pantone color of the year is now Marsala, and no, not like the chicken.
Marsala is a sort of maroon color with a splash of rich brown. The Pantone company is known as the world-renowned authority on all things relating to color. They are also tasked with establishing effective communication between the various industries dealing with colors and especially the mixing of colors to create certain shades.
Although the color of the year is Marsala, there are also the colors of the year, which vary from the solely chosen 2015 color. The palette of colors is bright, yet pale, pastel shades. Not to go so far as to say that they are watercolors, but something more like that of folklore, floral designs and a resurgence of retro art. See the Pantone site for all information on the color selecting process and all 2015 colors.
As for fashion trends, it looks like shirtdresses are here to stay. The style is gaining popularity among designers who are adding different silhouettes to the scene with drop waists and the infamous 90s style of slit skirts. Yellow, military greens and gingham are also showing their face on the 2015 runways.
A trend that is sure to make everyone’s feet happy is a growing movement towards more comfortable shoes. Sneakers can be very fashionable these days whether they are a plain color, a pair of converse or even designer sneakers. Flats and simple sandals, too, are staying on the map, and are a silent blessing to all those who cannot make it the whole day in a pair of high-heels.
