Michigan International Speedway offers discount for students and faculty

Michigan International Speedway (MIS), located in Brooklyn, Michigan two hours outside of Toledo, Ohio, will offer discounted student and faculty tickets to two NASCAR racing events.

According to MIS corporate sales Rob Hemmig, MIS is the fastest track in the country for racing because of the layout of its track. The track is wide and long, which gives the racers a chance of going the maximum speed of 220 mph.  The track was remodeled last year. This track is home to many NASCAR races.

“We have a lot of events going on this summer and it’s going to be fun,” Hemmig said.

On June 14-16, MIS will host the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, and on August 16-18, it will host the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Visitors can bring their own beverages and food.

MIS will also host a three-day music festival called Faster Horses from July 19-21. Musicians include: Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and more. Three-day tickets are $170 and parking is $10 per day, unless camping.

Tickets for the NASCAR events are $30 per person and can be purchased by contacting Rob Hemmig at 517-592-1134. Parking is free.
