Subvert the norms and all you’ll find

is another’s views instead of mine.

Fight the machine,

curse the serene,

you’re still just a part of the American dream.

 

Break the ceiling, shatter the glass,

but you’re a part of the future’s past.

Play the game,

carve your name,

when history’s written you’ll share the blame.

 

Grab for all the things you can;

still you’ll find you’re not a man.

Pace the floors

of high-end stores

and when you die, you’re just as poor.

 

Give what you have, shake loose the chains,

your righteous deeds are what remains.

Ignore your greed,

meet a need,

that is how you truly lead.
