DiBella's offers a new sub to the area

Walking into DiBella’s, one of the first things you realize is that the restaurant is enormous. Rockwellian illustrations line the walls, touting fresh bread and warm cookies. While the dining area is decorated in a NYC-retro style straight out of the thirties, the kitchen is all gleaming ovens and modern appliances. Most impressive are the employees, working quickly and efficiently, yet staying friendly-- a well-oiled machine with a smile.

Oh, and the sub tastes great, too.

DiBella’s Old Fashioned Submarines opened their newest location on Zink Rd., right next to Meijer, on Jan. 24. Far and away, it is the largest and most grandiose sub eatery in the area, and the food is more than worthy of the comparatively fancy environment.

This particular freelancer ordered The Godfather, with Genoa salami, capicola and spicy ham on everything bread, along with black olives, lettuce, onions and mayonnaise. It is spicy, but not overwhelming, and juicy without being greasy. The bread is perhaps the sub’s greatest ingredient: fresh, warm and flavorful.

Be sure to save room for a cookie. Mere words cannot describe the perfection that is baked into their cookies.

All of this is made possible by the apparently tireless DiBella’s team. Everyone is very helpful, welcoming and patient as they effortlessly guide you through the many steps and options while ordering your sandwich.

It can be stated, on no uncertain terms, that DiBella’s Old Fashioned Submarines serve up the best subs around. Do yourself a favor and head on over, because subs have never tasted quite this gourmet.
