Beats Antique live at the Newport

On Tuesday, September 18, the electronica/experimental world fusion act Beats Antique will take the stage at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus. The 7 p.m. show will also feature rapper Lynx as the opener.

Beats Antique displays a wide range of musical influences, such as Middle Eastern belly dance, down tempo, hip-hop, old school jazz, clown, afro-beat and many styles of electronic music. Their most recent album, Contraception Vol. 2 will be released on September 18, the same day as the show.

In 2011, the band performed at summer festivals:  Lollapalooza, Coachella, Bonaroo and Red Rock. Their show contains a combination of belly dancing, performance art and blaring electronica.

Seating is general admission, and tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster or by contacting the Newport Music Hall box office.
